Responsibilities & Requirements:
Position duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Analyze customer requirements and develop system changes that improve the workflow and productivity of end-user processes.
- Receive, manage and document escalated request/incident tickets, analyze and troubleshoot complex systems problems, and develop creative solutions.
- Participate on implementation teams to deploy new systems and systems enhancements under the direction of the project lead. Participate in the development of time and cost estimates for proposed projects.
- Implement new systems, software, and related components with minimal impact on other production environments. Maintain a stable test environment to conduct development activities.
- Maintain a suite of programs, procedures, and samples to test new/modified systems and software. Run test programs to validate the operation of systems and software. Analyze problems identified by testing and recommend/implement solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve system performance problems. Tune system configurations to reach optimal operating capacities.
- Develop disaster recovery and backup processes and procedures and schedules for assigned systems.
- Develop VB, PowerShell, batch, and other scripts to maintain systems and support end-user functionality needs.
- Build and tear down servers based on project plans and established system/platform life cycles.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain virtual server and virtual desktop systems based on business requirements and end-user needs.
- Configure Active Directory settings and identity management functions per the overall IS and KHN security framework.
- Maintain documentation on system configurations, backup procedures, troubleshooting steps, and other key information.
Position requirements:
- 2 year Associate's degree or equivalent IT certification or experience required
- 3-5 years of related systems administration experience
- Experience with network administration and related management utilities
- In-depth knowledge of network/server operating systems
- Demonstrated experience installing and configuring servers
- Detailed understanding of Windows, UNIX, and TCP/IP protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
For this position, we are seeking specific skills and experience in scripting/programming to support IT automation services:
Basic working knowledge of:
- SQL
- Creating databases/tables
- Configuring relationships
- Composing queries to read/write data via scripting language or natively
- VMWare
- Management of VMs and PowerCLI
- IaC
- Git/DevOps
- Credential management/retrieval via Azure Key Vault
Moderate to highly skilled in:
- Scripting/Programming (PowerShell Core preferred)
- Able to create functions, classes, methods, modules, etc. as needed for projects
- Able to solve complex infrastructure or ITIL fulfillment problems
- REST based APIs
- Creating and managing scripts that push/pull data from various APIs
- Retrieving tokens/auth
- MS Graph familiarity
Additional desirable skillsets:
- Power BI
- Creating/configuring reports based on existing SQL data
- Containerization
- Certificate management
Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
