Optimized IT is regional in scope, providing Managed IT Services to small to mid-sized organizations including Business, Not-for-Profit, and K-12 markets. We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator with good client communication skills and an appetite to solve problems.
Job Summary: The Systems Administrator is primarily responsible for projects involving the onboarding of new clients, deployment of new products, and/or refinement of existing services. The Systems Administrator is also an escalation point for the Network Operation Center (NOC) and Help Desk portion of the Service Department. On-call availability will be required. Systems Administrator will be competent in all facets of Network, Storage, Server, Virtualization, and Security.
Functions/Responsibilities:

Functions/Responsibilities:
- Build and deploy of new client hardware (servers (physical or virtual), switches, firewalls, and/or SAN) via projects
- Receive escalation customer calls for trouble/technical support.
- Receive technical escalation from other departments at Optimized IT.
- Cooperatively test and work with external vendors and partners
- Provide continual status updates to customers or project managers regarding tickets.
- Create trouble tickets for detected issues that are defined as “Out of spec”.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office 365, Server platforms, and Exchange
- Strong understanding of Microsoft system management (AD, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, NPS, etc)
- Strong understanding of Networking (VLAN, NAT, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
- Strong understanding of Virtualization (VMware VCP preferred)
- Strong understanding of Storage solutions
- Strong understanding of Firewalls
- Some experience with backup solutions
- Some experience with mobile device management
- Wireless design, implementation, and management experience
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good time management skills and able to multi-task
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work well and communicate with all areas of the company as well as external customers and vendors
- Advanced PC/keyboard/navigation skills
- Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter
- Adaptable to change and able to work under pressure
