Under the day-to-day direction of the IT Systems Engineering Manager, the Systems Specialist supports the County's physical and virtual infrastructure, server applications, databases, and security administration. This role involves performing analysis, implementation, support, maintenance, and monitoring of these systems while adhering to County standards. Additionally, the Systems Specialist manages small to mid-size projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Three (3) years of server experience, or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Valid driver's license
- Successful completion of a sheriff's background and fingerprint check after the offer
Experience
- Configuring and supporting Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Domains, Domain Schemas, DNS, DHCP, and Security Policy Configurations
- Configuring, supporting, and securing Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2012, 2016, 2019) and SQL Server (2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019)
- Supporting and securing virtualization technologies and configurations using VMware or Citrix
- Working with network storage (SAN, NAS, Backup, etc.)
- Supporting Microsoft Exchange
- Excellent communication skills and exceptional customer-facing skills with a high degree of professionalism
- Logical, clear, and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Handling sensitive and confidential information
- Initiative, ability to work independently and within a team, and use independent judgment
- Ability to react quickly to a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Adaptability, ability to learn new technical concepts, and perform in unfamiliar environments with or without formal training
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at once
- Frequently required to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch; able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00
