System Software Test Engineer Next Generation Infotainment Systems

We are seeking a detail-oriented System QA Tester to conduct end-to-end validation of next-generation infotainment systems in Cupertino, CA. This role requires testing on shipping hardware with unreleased software, including tasks such as following test suites, performing regression verifications, updating software and firmware on test benches and vehicles, conducting basic issue triage, and escalating critical issues. The ideal candidate will bring a creative approach to testing and be comfortable working in both bench and in-vehicle testing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct testing from a stationary vehicle (no driving required).
• Execute bench-level testing using provided test suites and procedures.
• Validate hardware and software by performing basic regression tests.
• Update software and firmware on test benches and vehicles as needed.
• Troubleshoot, document, and report all issues, maintaining clear and accurate logs and bug reports.
• Summarize and communicate findings effectively to team members.
• Escalate key issues promptly to raise program awareness.
• Perform creative testing beyond predefined scripts when required, ensuring a comprehensive testing approach.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong QA fundamentals and debugging skills, including end-to-end testing experience.
• Ability to create detailed bug reports, capturing all relevant information (logs, timestamps, screenshots, etc.).
• Excellent communication and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Familiarity with scripting for log parsing (Python or Swift preferred).

Bonus Skills:

• Experience in the automotive or infotainment industry.
• Interest in hardware and software testing, particularly within infotainment environment.
• Basic proficiency in Python or Swift scripting.
