About the Job
We are seeking a Cryptographic SETA Specialist to support our clients in designing, evaluating, and implementing advanced cryptographic systems. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor, providing expertise in cryptographic technologies, systems engineering, and cybersecurity frameworks. This position requires a deep understanding of secure communication protocols, cryptographic standards, and the ability to support lifecycle development processes. Responsibilities Technical Advisory:
Provide subject matter expertise on cryptographic algorithms, systems, and implementations.
Evaluate cryptographic solutions for compliance with government and industry standards (e.g., FIPS 140-3, NIST guidelines).
Advise on emerging cryptographic technologies, including quantum-resistant cryptography. Systems Engineering Support:
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to design secure systems and architectures.
Assist in the development and evaluation of cryptographic key management systems (KMS).
Support system integration efforts to ensure cryptographic components function securely and efficiently. Program Management Support:
Provide technical input for program acquisition strategies and requirements development.
Review technical proposals, test plans, and risk assessments related to cryptographic implementations.
Monitor contractor performance and deliverables to ensure compliance with technical requirements. Security and Compliance:
Ensure cryptographic solutions meet security requirements and policy mandates (e.g., NSA, DoD, GDPR).
Conduct security reviews and vulnerability assessments of cryptographic systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and present briefings, white papers, and technical reports for stakeholders.
Maintain detailed records of recommendations, decisions, and outcomes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
8+ years of experience in cryptography, cybersecurity, or related fields.
Experience in government or defense contracting environments is highly desirable.
Proficiency in cryptographic standards and technologies (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC, SHA).
Familiarity with cryptographic modules and tools (e.g., HSMs, OpenSSL, PKI).
Knowledge of secure system design principles and security frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53).
