Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Primary Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support land mobile radio equipment, cellular modems, satellite communication devices, radio dispatch equipment, cellular boosters, and other wireless technologies.
- Perform RF and cellular coverage studies on-site to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and replace end-user equipment and radio infrastructure as needed.
- Act as a customer interface, addressing technical needs and providing support for escalated trouble tickets.
- Collaborate with the Service Desk, Information Security, and other support groups to resolve client issues efficiently.
- Update technical documentation (e.g., drawings, inventories) to ensure records are accurate.
- Use personal vehicles to travel within the service area, with mileage reimbursement provided.
- Provide on-call support as part of a rotation for after-hours response.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in wireless technology installation and support, including land mobile radio systems, cellular boosters, modems, and satellite communications.
- Proficiency in RF systems, general IT troubleshooting, and the use of hand tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tickets and prioritize requests in a timely manner.
- Experience working on technical projects, particularly in the wireless domain.
- Strong communication skills to interact with clients and management, providing regular status updates on work progress.
- Installation, troubleshooting, and support for land mobile radio systems, cellular boosters, satellite communications, or microwave technologies.
- Experience with RF test equipment.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems and vehicle electrical wiring.
Salary
45 - 50 /hour
