Our Global Sustainment (GS) Team at our San Diego, California facility within Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced professional to provide support for the US Navy's LCS Platforms. Candidate will work out of a Lockheed Martin office in San Diego but will spend most of their time at the San Diego Naval Base as needed to support commissioned LCS Platforms. Candidate will be tasked with installation support of Lethality and Survivable upgrades to the Freedom and Independence Class units.
- Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organizing, control, integration, and completion of LCS upgrades within area of assigned responsibility.
- Plans and formulates installation and test projects and organizes project staff according to schedule and technical requirements.
- Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project. Coordinates activities resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Works with the larger IWSS Waterfront organization and LCS support teams to balance work force peaks and valleys.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Global Sustainment Supply Chain technology plans, common processes and applications.
- Required on an infrequent basis to go underway on units and to frequently work on moored pier-side units. Physical ability to navigate steep stairs and ladders as well as work in confined spaces is a requirement.
- Candidate must have a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. US citizenship is required..
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in science from ABET accredited program or related discipline from an accredited college or comparable skills and experience. Master's degree preferred.
• 4-6 years' experience performing Naval Combat Systems, shipboard operations and maintenance.
Experience in leadership and/or personnel management. Preferred 10 years' working experience with leadership and management responsibilities.
Candidate must have a DoD Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. US citizenship is required.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Naval Combat Systems operations and maintenance during new construction or modernization testing and sea trials.
• Ability to plan, coordinate and develop teams as necessary to address Naval Combat Systems upgrades, installation design and maintenance.
• Ability to review and plan Combat Systems installation tasks, work standards, and technical decisions, and publish work schedules.
• Experience with Planning and coordination of shipboard modernization or industrial work operations with other project offices and functional codes, including maintaining continuous contact with the Shipbuilder, other involved shipyards, ships' crews, and other Navy and contractor activities to exchange information regarding high level technical and management problems.
• Ability to analyze Weapons System technical information to identify actual or potential problems, and take action to anticipate, mitigate or resolve problems.
• Experience with establishing basic work organization to assign functions and responsibilities.
• Ability to support planned and special maintenance actions to ensure Naval Combat Systems operability and availability.
• Experience with preparation of correspondence, technical reports, status reports, visual and oral presentations, memoranda, contract modification requests, etc., as required to complete assignments.
• Experience with At-Sea operations of LCS weapons systems and subsystems.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $91,300 - $175,000. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
