Apex is currently searching for a Business Systems Analyst to support a large manufacturing client in the Plano, TX area. The position is slated as a 12 month contract with potential to extend down the road. This person will be helping with a company wide initiative to upgrade their manufacturing systems. Hours will be Monday-Friday 8-5 in CST with 4 days in office each week. Rate is expected around $60-65 an hour W2 depending on experience.

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Systems Analyst to join our team in transitioning a 30-year-old legacy application. This role is not about replicating or replacing the system but understanding and enhancing it. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems analysis, data connectivity, and business rule interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Systems Analysis: Understand and analyze the existing legacy systems, including data connectivity and real-time updates.
- Business Rules: Interpret and apply business rules to ensure system functionality aligns with business needs.
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with Business Analysts to create detailed stories, epics, and tasks that provide clear guidance for developers.
- Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between functional and technical teams, translating functional documents into technical specifications.
- Process Flows: Develop and tweak detailed process flows, including system integrations, based on business inputs and evolving requirements.
- Data Analysis: Query databases using SQL to identify data gaps and support legacy platform understanding.
- Documentation: Capture epics and stories, and convert them into technical specifications or requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in systems analysis and understanding of legacy systems.
- Strong SQL skills for querying databases.
- Ability to interpret and apply business rules.
- Experience in creating detailed process flows and system integrations.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise between functional and technical teams.
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements.
- Experience in creating workflows using tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
