System Analyst II
Summary: The System Analyst II - Clinical Information Systems collaborates with customers to create test plans and enhance system functionality with minimal assistance. This role involves orienting and training new system users, staying updated on regulatory compliance, and participating in internal process improvement initiatives.
Major Function:
- Collaborate with customers for workflow design, analysis, and process improvement.
- Create and execute test plans, enhancing system functionality.
- Play an active role in the orientation and training of new system users.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory compliance and implement system changes.
- Participate in internal process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in computer science or a related field. Alternatively, 3-5 years' relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a specific service/clinical discipline, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in managing IS-related projects is required.
- Proficiency with PCs and networking.
- Analyst experience with Cerner is required.
- Knowledge of SurgiNet Cerner is preferred.
- Experience working in the Surgical Services area is desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise in multiple healthcare applications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with customers for workflow design and process improvement.
- Assist with application research and analysis for design decisions and specifications.
- Perform database maintenance and document system changes.
- Develop specifications and design layouts for customer reports.
- Establish security and application access in compliance with HIPAA.
- Evaluate new systems or system changes impacting multiple departments.
- Schedule and provide training sessions on assigned applications.
- Facilitate meetings, create minutes, and manage action logs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve project and support issues.
- Provide excellent customer service and occasional 24x7 on-call support.
Competencies:
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage small projects and mentor team members.
Work Experience:
- Minimum experience managing IS-related projects.
- Experience with PCs and networking.
- Analyst experience with Cerner.
- Knowledge of SurgiNet Cerner is preferred.
- Experience in Surgical Services is a plus.
