System Administrator (OpenShift/Kubernetes)
The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule consisting of onsite work in Lansing, Michigan two (2) days per week and remote work three (3) days per week.
Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of System Administrator (OpenShift/Kubernetes). This position functions as a OpenShift Container Platform Administrator responsible for the client's projects. This position provides the technical expertise for the complex and intricate Azure DevOps and Containerization Tool Stack including but not limited to specializing in the support and administration of the OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Projects and support for integrations with IIS, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, SQL Server, Windows, Linux, Oracle etc. This position will act as an escalation point to support OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Azure DevOps processes including build, release, management, and deployment using Azure DevOps and OCP tools. With a large number of applications transitioning to OCP , an administrator is needed to coordinate , provide guidance , resolve technical issues and adherence to standards. This position will incorporate the DevSecOps methodology into the tools and platforms within the scope of responsibility. The administrator is also responsible to integrate new technologies/ tools with Azure and OCP.

Job Duties and Experience:
- Strong experience with Redhat OpenShift Version 4.
- Troubleshoot the application issues in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environment.
- Experience in creating Build, Deployment config files for applications on OpenShift.
- Hands-on experience in creating S2I images, Stateful sets and converting existing docker image to an S2I image.
- Working knowledge on OpenShift/Kubernetes and Container Orchestration.
- Experience working on Java-based applications.
- Knowledge on maintaining Quay Image Repository.
- Experience and ability to creating docker files, images, and containers.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines and GIT.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- Work collaboratively with teams to ensure our products are successfully deployed, upgraded, and maintained.
- Deep knowledge and experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) version 6.X and higher.
- Elastic stack administration, performance and capacity management including Index curation/retention management.
- Logstash and pipeline configuration and grok experience.
- Working knowledge of Elastic Beats Filebeats, Heartbeat.
- Working Experience with SonarQube , Coverity.
- Experience with Hasura , REDIS , Apache Spark , Azure Databricks.
- Experience with AWS.
- Experience with Linux Scripting, .ksh , bash and Python , terraforming scripts.
- Experience in understanding and debugging Java errors.
- Strong Knowledge of SSL, TCP/IP Networking, LDAP.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills - works well with diverse teams and independently.
- Self-starter with excellent organization, planning, detail-oriented documentation, and time management skills
- Experience with 24/7 problem solving in an existing, complex environment including monitoring disk, CPU and network performance anomalies and the ability to act immediately upon system and/or network performance alarms.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working on Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- 8+ years of experience in Linux shell scripting
- 5 years as in expert in application containerization management
- Experience in DevSecOps practices, infrastructure, scripting/programming
- Experience in AWS platform
- 5 Plus years of experience with skill sets listed
