Job Description:
System Administratorwith an understanding in working in Agile Project management and/or Development Operations environments and to support a Department of Defense research lab.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Design and implement computer and information networks (physical and virtual), such as local area networks (LAN/VLAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
· Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
· Configure and maintain Cisco VPN enabled network
· Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
· Serve as an administrator in an enclave leveraging various Linux/Unix based operating systems.
· Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux/Unix servers to ensure optimal system performance, security, and reliability.
· Develop and implement scripts for automating system administration tasks, including backups, monitoring, and updates.
· Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated.
· Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily.
· Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner.
· Support software developers in building and integrating software solutions to requirements-based development efforts by maintaining development environment and network.
· Creating and documenting test cases to ensure functional and security requirements are met by developer software in order to support functional and security audits.
· Attend and actively participate in team meetings.
· Apply software patches to network assets in response to vulnerability findings.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE or HIGHER.
Required Skills & Experience:
· Possess an active security clearance (Minimum Secret)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
· Citrix hypervisor experience (or other vmware experience),
· Networked Attached Storage (NAS) knowledge/experience
· Familiar with various Firewall configurations (iptables or similar) and experience with implementing.
· Experience in operating system administration, especially Linux (Debian, Ubuntu etc.).
· Proficiency with scripting languages, ideally Linux scripting and/or Python.
· Proficient with ACAS and SCAP
Job Description: George Consulting is seeking a HPC Application Support Engineer to support a classified project in Alexandria, VA. Roles and Responsibilities: The HPC Application Support Engineer will be responsible for the following: • Manage, deploy, and support applications on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) • Work with users to customize applications and configure software development, integration, and production environments to specification • Work with HPC vendors to identify hardware and software solutions to meet system requirements • Monitor internally developed applications for impact to system performance and resource utilization • Tune applications to optimize performance and reliability of services across the High-Performance Computing (HPC) ecosystem • Diagnose application problems quickly and effectively • Automate administration procedures for routine and complex tasks • Provide backup HPC system administration support • Coordinate with vendors to resolve software problems • Work with team to define and implement best practices • Able to work independently with limited direction and be self-motivated. • Able to work with other contractor teammates and customers daily. • Able to work closely with customers to ensure deliverables meet their expectations and arrive in a timely manner. • Attend and actively participate in team meetings. THIS POSITION REQUIRES THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or closely related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Linux/UNIX Systems Administration. • Experience supporting internally developed applications in C, C++, Java, and Python • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. • Ability to identify requirements and to define, plan, and implement requisite solutions • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize tasks, and complete assigned projects with minimal supervision • This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. • Certifications: Security+, RHCSA or RHCE Preferred Qualifications: • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team • 5 years of experience supporting HPC applications and development environments on RHEL • Experience troubleshooting application execution through resource managers such as PBS Pro and Slurm • Experience with utilities such as Git, Bitbucket, Confluence • An understanding of code review, compilers, and debugging tools including Intel Parallel Studio, GCC, GDB, TotalView • Experience supporting applications based on CUDA, OpenCL, OpenMPI, OpenMP, IntelMPI • Experience using tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, and SNMP to monitor systems, metrics, and create dashboards • Ability to develop and maintain programs and scripts that aid in the operation and automation of administrative tasks and workflows using Bash and Python
