ob Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable IT System Administrator to manage and maintain our organization’s IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting network systems, servers, and software applications. You will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to staff members, all while maintaining a high level of service quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, operating systems, and network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across the organization's IT environment.
- Network Configuration & Troubleshooting: Set up and manage local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPN), troubleshooting connectivity and hardware-related issues as they arise.
- Security & Backup: Implement and enforce security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption. Regularly perform system backups and ensure disaster recovery procedures are in place.
- Software & Hardware Installation: Install, configure, and update hardware and software systems, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure. Perform software updates and patches as necessary to ensure system stability.
- User Support & Training: Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot system issues, and resolve problems related to hardware, software, and networking. Provide training and guidance on software and system use as needed.
- Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Continuously monitor the health and performance of IT systems and networks, performing proactive maintenance and adjustments to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all IT systems, processes, and configurations. Ensure that records are accessible and clear for troubleshooting and compliance purposes.
- System Upgrades & Maintenance: Plan and implement upgrades, patches, and new installations to ensure all systems are current and secure. Regularly assess the system to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and departments to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and to support ongoing projects.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to IT security, data management, and operational practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Proficiency in network administration, including knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Solid understanding of IT security practices and protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and encryption.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical team members.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) are highly desirable.
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Exchange Server.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation of system tasks.
