Salary Range: $130K-$140K/Annum



Job Description:
Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of databases from Sybase ASE/IQ to SQL Server , ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Conduct detailed assessments of existing Sybase ASE/IQ databases, including schema, data, and stored procedures.
• Develop and implement migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Utilize SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) and other tools to automate and streamline the migration process.
• Modify and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to ensure compatibility and performance in SQL Server.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application developers, business analysts, and IT support, to ensure successful migration.
• Perform thorough testing and validation of migrated data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Provide post-migration support, including troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Document migration processes, procedures, and best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience with Sybase ASE/IQ and SQL Server, including database administration and development.
• Strong understanding of database migration methodologies and tools, particularly SSMA.
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and stored procedure development.
• Experience in the capital markets or banking domain is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with other database technologies such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL).
