About the Role
Turtle is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Switchgear Department Manager, overseeing the Boston/New England territory. This pivotal role, based at our Stoughton, MA location, demands an individual who can not only meet but exceed sales goals while demonstrating the leadership skills required to manage a team of project managers and estimators. What You’ll Do:
1. Sales Leadership:
- Drive the achievement of assigned sales goals, embodying the expertise of a seasoned professional sales engineer operating with minimal supervision.
- Optimize sales volume and profit margins, strategically increasing market share.
- Coordinate with external sales professionals, fostering collaboration while independently generating demand within your established network.
2. Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of project managers and estimators, ensuring cohesion and efficiency within the department.
3. Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Conduct accurate and timely planning, interpreting specifications, and providing technical support.
- Communicate effectively with customers, warehouses, and plants to facilitate problem resolution.
- Analyze market intelligence to understand competitive products, customer preferences, and buying habits.
- Establish strong relationships with vendor partners.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
- Review and interpret customer needs based on plans and specifications.
- Provide timely solutions to customer issues, utilizing available resources or creating procedures for resolution.
5. Bids and Quotations:
- Prepare and present bids and quotations to customers, adhering to company pricing and delivery guidelines, and applying sound business judgment.
