A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SWISS SCREW MACHINE OPERATOR
As a Swiss Screw Machine Operator, you are a vital member of our production team. As part of the Esco department, you help determine the flow of quality work through to the next operation. Each day, you are charged with setting up the equipment, adjusting it according to specifications, and either operating it yourself or instructing others in its operation. As an assistant to our lead machine operator, you take a hands-on approach to training and use your excellent communication skills to ensure that all the operators are able to complete their tasks in a safe and precise manner.
As the work proceeds, you measure, examine and test the completed components to detect defects and ensure compliance with the blueprints and specifications. Through close observation of the machinery, you occasionally detect that it needs urgent maintenance. Using your mechanical aptitude, you either perform the maintenance yourself or oversee the work, ensuring that it gets done promptly and accurately.
Efficient and organized, you also keep an eye on the production schedule and make sure that regular maintenance occurs at the most convenient times. Keeping open communication between departments, you make sure that everyone is aware of the scheduled maintenance and plans accordingly. Seeing our quality dowel pins move through our machine shop and on to our customers brings you great satisfaction. You are proud to play such a crucial role in their production!
