They are looking for a passionate Swine Veterinarian to join their team and make a difference in our community.
Position Overview:
As a Swine Veterinarian, you will be responsible for monitoring herd health in local sow barns. You will collaborate closely with producers to ensure optimal health practices and disease prevention, supporting the overall well-being of our livestock.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments and routine checks in local sow barns.
- Work with producers to develop and implement effective herd health management strategies.
- Diagnose and treat health issues in swine.
- Monitor herd performance and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, veterinary practices, and regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive health records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience in swine health management is preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to animal welfare and ethical practices.
Travel Requirements:
This position involves approximately 15% travel within the region to visit local producers and sow barns.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of $150,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience.
