Swine Management Intern at Soules Farms

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The swine management intern is responsible for working closely with our swine management team to gain practical experience in all aspects of swine care and farm operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about animal science and looking to build a career in agricultural management.    KEY JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:  Animal Care: Assist with daily feeding, watering, and health monitoring of swine. Ensure proper handling and welfare of animals. Support the implementation of health protocols including vaccinations, treatments, health and nutrition programs, and biosecurity measures.    Data Collection: Participate in the monitoring and analysis of animal performance data. Help in recording and analyzing data related to feed intake, growth rates, and health metrics.   Facility Maintenance: Assist with the routine cleaning and sanitation of swine housing facilities to ensure a healthy environment for the animals. Help with facility management tasks such as equipment maintenance and record keeping.   Research Support: Participate in ongoing research projects related to swine nutrition, genetics, and management practices.  Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to safety and welfare standards.
