About the Job
Within the Product and Innovation Team, you are Product & Innovation Manager in charge of (i) supporting Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance underwriting teams in their underwriting development projects and (ii) building a portfolio of new insurance products, systems and services (in-house and through partnerships). You will benefit from SCOR P&C resources and will interact with market/client managers to steer a wide range of initiatives including interaction with clients. Your generalist UW expertise, Data science interest and PMO capabilities will be key success factors for the Product & Innovation portfolio.
As the P&C Product & Innovation Manager, you will support Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance underwriting teams in their efforts to develop insurance products and services for treaty and corporate clients:
- Participate to any underwriting development projects:
- either on Specialty Insurance or for our Reinsurance clients,
- for mature products
- and innovative opportunities.
- Develop a pipeline of New Products opportunity:
- Provide market insight and development
- Investigate, analyze existing and new markets in the area and propose new solutions, new businesses to develop the existing portfolio
- Investigate on partnership models
- Evaluate and advice 3rd party providers
- Support Underwriters on Innovation topics
- Bring technical expertise on new product / services
- Visit client with Underwriters when needed to present new products /services
- Support underwriters in client negotiation if needed
- Actively participate, contribute and collaborate to UW planning, business initiative and implementation process to both Reinsurance and Specialty Insurance
- Based on your generalist expertise, work with SCOR P&C functions to evaluate various requirements of any Underwriting Development Project:
- Risk modeling
- Actuarial Pricing
- Insurance Wording
- UW guidelines
- Distribution
- Capacity / Reinsurance arrangements
- Legal and regulatory
- Based on your strong PMO skills, and leveraging the existing P&I core team experience, construct and lead deal teams across SCOR P&C to bring the necessary support to the execution of the successive steps of a specific Underwriting Development Project:
- Opportunity identification
- Feasibility study (including assessment of potential IT partner)
- Proof of Concept (including management of potential IT partner)
- Progressive UW delegation
- Geographical roll-out
- Produce reports of various formats for reporting purposes as required.
Desired Qualifications
- A minimum of a college degree, or equivalent experience, in Mathematics, Engineering or equivalent discipline. Business degree in addition would be a plus.
- Ideally, a minimum of 10/15 years work experience on similar fields in an international environment
- Strong experience in Data science
- Ability to work within a team, to share work and information with other team members
- Proven underwriting skills for diverse and large companies (wordings, quotations),
- Proven International exposures,
- Risk management knowledge, reinsurance and insurance,
- Ability to define and implement a business plan
- Ability to manage teams (direct and remote), projects and deals with their specificities
