Responsibilities:The purpose of the SVP of System Architecture is to oversee the design, delivery, and management of all digital business solutions at Members 1st. This oversight will unify the organization’s software development, data governance and architecture, and third-party software integration and business process analysis with shared processes, standards, and methods to drive organizational success. This role has a budgetary responsibly for a medium size department. In addition, the role will manage and strategically coordinate leaders and contributors to leverage the unique strengths of teams in software design and architecture, data management and architecture, data governance, business intelligence analysis, core financial system integration, and third-party application support. The SVP of System Architecture will craft and define system architecture delivery, defining and executing on a future vision that balances technical and business value considerations for scalability and exceptional quality. The role will require a significant level of trust and diplomacy and the work involves extensive personal contact with others. The SVP of System Architecture is responsible for a scope of operations which includes but is not limited to: traditional host/mainframe development and administration, modern software engineering methodologies, secure data exchange and application interfaces, automation implementation and support, business process analysis and integration, data management and architecture, data science, unified Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, and design methodologies to ensure effective and efficient business operations and high availability of resources. The SVP of System Architecture will coordinate, inspire, and advocate on behalf of highly skilled leaders and their teams responsible for system analysis, design, and delivery, fostering collaboration between engineering teams in hybrid deployments, leveraging cloud and on-premise environments as best suits each particular challenge, and ensuring consistency and excellence among these teams in the development of reusable patterns via Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). As a leader, the role will select, develop, motivate and retain qualified staff. The problems encountered in this role will require proficiency in understanding and implementing secure software design principles, data governance, data architecture, core system integration, third party system support, and best practices.
SKILLS
• Extensive experience with systems development life-cycle (SDLC) methodologies and industry best practices guidelines particularly as they pertain to compliance with regulatory operational and control expectations
• Ability to evaluate system solutions based on user needs, cost and required integration with existing systems
• Extensive experience with data management systems and industry best practice guidelines, particularly as they pertain to compliance with regulatory operational and control experiences
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills
• Ability to perform effectively and positively in managing a highly demanding and continually evolving, often stressful work environment
• Experience with containerization and cloud development techniques
• Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms and big data technologies
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with the IT organization, project management and infrastructure teams, management and business personnel, vendors, and regulatory and third-party assessment entities
• High level of personal integrity and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters with appropriate judgment and maturity
• Works closely with members of the project and portfolio management team to ensure alignment between data, development, and system analysis and integration teams
• Define and oversee consistent and harmonized enterprise data architecture, governance, enrichment, and strategy

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
