Responsibilities:1. Oversight and leadership of Engineering and Maintenance across the Health System comprising 5 Delivery Networks with 7 inpatient campuses together with off-site ambulatory facilities contain approximately 11 million square feet of space
2. High level of communication both verbally and written on scope of services, updates to projects, adherence to timelines and budgets are executed. Be an active member of the senior leadership team ensuring all YNHHS strategies are executed. Build a network of stakeholders throughout the health system.
3. Work with Senior Leadership to develop and maintain system and campus focused Master Facilities Plans on a five (5) year rolling basis. Meet on a regular basis with Senior Leadership to discuss and update project related schedules and budgets.
4. Develop, manage, and execute capital project budgets. Work with finance leadership to develop a long -term Capital project plan with a unified Project Cost Reporting and accounting system to accurately track project related expenditures that coordinate with the system Finance Department.
5. Ensure that facilities engineering Services on all sites maintain and repair infrastructure and equipment in a coordinated, constructive and collaborative fashion and in manner that minimizes risk and promotes uninterrupted normal operations.
6. In collaboration with the System Executive Director of Design and Construction ensure robust and competitive bid processes and provide oversight for the selection and engagement System wide design professionals, engineers and outside consultants, construction mangers, and contractors to ensure the timely and professional implementation of their work.
7. Designs all system facilities in and environmentally friendly and energy efficient fashion.
8. Review and monitor progress of the general contractor's work against the contract specifications and the construction schedule. Ensure all projects are on time and on budget and that all work areas in a safe condition. Where any work is performed in an unsafe manner, advise all appropriate parties, and follow up on corrective measures.
9. Ensure all data analytics are optimized by ensuring data integrity, dashboard and reporting is robust to direct work, optimize efficiency and manage the daily work.
10.In collaboration with the System Executive Director of Engineering schedule and coordinate all hospital agency inspections. Report on same and follow up on any corrective measures.
11. Ensure that change orders are minimized by appropriately venting the projects with stakeholders in advance, for those unforeseen changes, gain senior leadership approval.
12. In collaboration with the System Executive Director of Real Estate, develop leasing strategies, provide oversight to all real estate leases and transactions, and advise leadership on strategic property acquisitions.
13. Works with operational, finance, human resource and other stakeholders to advance the clinical and operational alignment for all strategic, infrastructure and real estate projects and strategies. Enable operational leaders to meet and exceed objectives. Assure that there is an effective partnership and appropriate level of interaction with all appropriate stakeholders.
14. Oversee the 300+ FTEs throughout the department ensuring that performance management, talent management, staff engagement and competency management is completed. Ensure succession planning is robust and up to date throughout all functions.
Qualifications:EDUCATION: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture or a related field required. Master's Degree in business or related field strongly preferred
EXPERIENCE: 10-15 years experience in leading and directing large healthcare facilities.
SPECIAL SKILLS:Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to manage a larger portfolio of external vendors and oversee competitive bid processes and negotiate contracts. Ability to communicate in both written and oral form ;
demonstrate leadership and competency by example.
ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to the strategic direction, operational and fiscal responsibility for this function.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: CHFM and FACHE preferred.
Additional Information:SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND: Varied work environment with half of work performed in an office and half in the field. Able to make frequent trips to construction sites; climb stairs and ladders, carry plans and documents, without assistance.
