Reporting to the Originations COO, the Senior Vice President, CD Fulfillment Operations will drive operation excellence and support strategic objectives by leading daily operations to meet or exceed SLAs and monthly targets. Key responsibilities include optimizing document collection, enhancing customer communication, leveraging automation for third-party services, and developing a cost-effective, scalable underwriting team. The role focuses on streamlining loan closing and funding processes to achieve best-in-class cycle times, pull-through rates, and effective reporting for executive leadership and frontline teams.
The SVP is expected to drive continuous improvement, ensuring compliance and operational excellence while collaborating with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in end-to-end mortgage originations, strong industry connections, and the ability to challenge existing processes to foster innovation and efficiency.
Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize mortgage fulfillment, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high-quality loan processing.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of mortgage loan fulfillment, from disclosures signed through closing and post-closing.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), incentive compensation plans (ICPs), and operational standards.
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and manage a high-performing mortgage fulfillment team.
- Provide ongoing coaching, professional development, and performance management.

Process Optimization and Technology Integration
- Set and monitor production targets for the mortgage fulfillment team.
- Drive workflow reengineering to reduce loan processing times and increase operational throughput by.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks and inefficiencies using performance data.
- Recommend and implement technological solutions to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional technology initiatives to streamline and integrate mortgage fulfillment systems.
Client and Stakeholder Management
- Ensure high customer satisfaction throughout the mortgage fulfillment process.
- Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and other departments for a seamless loan origination experience.
- Build and sustain strategic partnerships with key third-party vendors.
Financial Management and Budgeting
- Develop and manage the budget for the mortgage fulfillment department.
- Control operational costs and implement cost-effective strategies.
- Prepare and present financial analyses to senior management as needed.
QA/Compliance/Risk Management
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, including TRID rules, Fair Lending laws, and other industry standards.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure accurate, compliant loan processing and mitigate risks.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance protocols and review processes.
Reporting and Strategic Planning
- Generate reports on team performance, operational metrics, and compliance status.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for mortgage fulfillment operations.
Definition of Success
- Establish and maintain end-to-end (E2E) reporting and pipeline management across all roles and teams.
- Achieve optimized cycle times for key products, including FHA streamlines and VA IRRRL, ensuring funding occurs within 30 days of intent to proceed (ITP).
- Maintain top-quartile performance in cost per loan relative to industry benchmarks.
- Achieve and sustain a top-quartile Net Promoter Score (NPS) for borrower experience.
- Drive top-quartile pull-through percentage for loan applications to funding.
- Ensure post-funding QA gross findings for compliance and credit remain below 10%, with net findings under 2%.

Qualifications:- Minimum of 15 years of experience in mortgage originations.
- Minimum of 5 years managing E2E mortgage operations, leveraging technology to drive improvements, with in-depth understanding of risk/control processes.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale transformation projects in mortgage operations.
- Experience successfully driving measurable improvements in mortgage fulfillment workflows, working cross-functionally across the organization.
- Proficiency in mortgage origination software (e.g., Encompass, LOS) and data analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to drive operational improvements.
- Data driven problem solving, analytical skills and ability to synthesize driven by curiosity.
- Balance of technical knowledge and business acumen.
- Proactive, self-starter with excellent process management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
