Job Details
Essential Job Functions
- 1-3 + years’ experience with capital equipment machine design/build
- Integral part of design team to insure DFM(Design for Manufacturability)strategies are implemented on all new product designs
- Conduit between design/development team and the manufacturing team/contract manufacturers
- Ability to read blue-prints and understand multiple drawing formats and schemes
- Abilitytodesigntimestudiesandcommunicatemanufacturingcostanalysistouppermanagement
- Provide process/product improvement concepts to minimize manufacturing costs
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) programs (Solid Works, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) to aid
manufacturing and minimize production downtime
- Problem solving with regards to historical existing designs and updating documentation appropriately
- Modifying existing designs i.e. next generation of existing product lines
- Writing regular progress reports and presenting them to project managers and clients
Education, Experience & Certification
- Associates degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or demonstrated equivalent work experience
- Hands on knowledge of a variety of manufacturing process’
- BS in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering discipline is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to solid model and create detail drawings
- Demonstrated depth of knowledge in a variety of fabrication and machining process’
- Previous experience in a capital equipment design/development and manufacturing environment
- Previous experience as a user of an ERP system
