Job Details
Responsibilities of this Surveyor role include, but are not limited to:
Directs field crew(s) engaged in survey measurement and layout in the field. Will supervise daily field operations and provide instructions to subordinates in the proper field procedures.
Will resolve problems encountered in the field. Instructs subordinate personnel in surveying procedures appropriate to a particular assignment.
Responsible for all information taken in the field and the reduction and management of this data in the field. Will take field notes and compile daily progress reports.
Reads & interprets technical documents, construction plans, right of way maps, field books and interprets data considering field requirements.
Checks all work to ensure completeness and accuracy. Analyzes and compares field data with record data. Conducts field work for topographic, as built surveys, construction stakeout, and other types of surveys as needed.
Provides training to subordinate personnel. Required to report to work at the appointed hour, as scheduled, and to work the entire assigned schedule.
Perform calculations using CAD program (TBC).
Provide daily schedule for intended survey layout. Attend daily, weekly, and monthly schedule, coordinating, & safety meetings as the project dictates.
Provide assistance in the surveying of roads and bridges.
Ensuring safety and quality in completing daily field tasks.
Responsible equipment maintenance, vehicle inspections, and equipment calibration
Responsible for all survey supplies, record keeping, reporting and scheduling.
Requirements:
3+ years roadway, bridge, construction surveying experience
Must be familiar with Federal OSHA regulations involving construction.
Must be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for the purpose of performing the duties outlined above.
Post offer drug screen required.
Must be available 6 days a week for the remaining 12/18 months left on the project.
Must be prepared to use survey software: Trimble GPS/Total Stations/Data Collectors, Trimble Business Center (CAD).
