A financially strong and outstanding Horizontal General Contractor in Akron is looking to add a Survey CAD Technician! Survey CAD Technician Duties:
- Operate and maintain survey instrumentation and data collection equipment; prepare and load assigned work vehicle for daily assignments
- Use basic math skills to calculate distances, road elevations, and other computations; take detailed notes on site to support the team; place ground stakes at specific locations designated by the Crew Chief to mark construction coordinates. Depending on soil and terrain conditions, this task requires significant physical strength and flexibility
- Prepare detailed drawings and maps using computer-aided design (CAD) software to a high degree of accuracy
- Research documents at the relevant county courthouse to verify the current property owner, adjacent owners, and boundaries established in aged surveys and easements; read engineering, topographic, and boundary plats, and other related plans to gain an understanding of the site to be surveyed or to provide information to other crew members; upload or download data files as needed for office use
- Develop collaborative relationships with our clients and other industry professionals
Survey CAD Technician Requirements:
- An associates degree in Surveying or a related field is required
- Three or more years of experience is preferred but not required
- Must be proficient in MS Office, survey technology and equipment, and other industry-based software is required
