Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Survey Manager at our Prescott office. This role will manage the survey department and oversee project budgets. The successful candidate will be a professional land surveyor registered in the state of Arizona with 10 years of experience in various land survey projects. They will have at least 5 years of experience in managing survey projects and survey staff. This is a good opportunity for a survey manager who enjoys managing and motivating survey staff, cultivating client relationships, and ensuring qualify survey projects are delivered.

Employment type: 40 hrs/Full-time

Registration(s): Arizona Professional Land Surveyor registration required

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage several survey projects simultaneously which includes scheduling, staffing and budgets
• Prepare scope of services and detailed project budget for multiple projects
• Ensure technical quality, scheduling, and profitability of projects
• Act as primary client contact and build relationships with clients
• Negotiate scope and fees of projects with clients and follow up on billing/collections
• Conduct marketing of surveying and engineering services and business development to obtain additional survey projects
• Prepare proposals, cost estimates, plats, legal descriptions and sketches roadway databases, topographic surveys, compute survey data, TxDOT right of way maps, etc.
• Ensure QA and QC review is completed
• Manage survey staff and mentor them to develop professionally
• Plan and coordinate work of field survey parties performing design survey and construction staking

Qualifications:

• Arizona registered Professional Land Surveyor
• Minimum 10 years' experience overseeing and performing Land Survey
• Office production experience including boundary, topographic and construction surveying
• Business development experience
• Proficient in MicroStation, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Geopak, Carlson Survey and C&G
• Passion for building client relationships, marketing surveying, and engineering services
• Business development experience
• Strong desire to build a positive culture among staff
• Valid Arizona Driver License and clean driving record

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, type/key-in data
• May lift and carry up to 50 pounds, hike up and down steep slopes carrying up to 50 pounds of survey equipment.
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
• Employee may be asked to walk on uneven terrain.
• May work in extreme weather conditions.
• Bend, squat, dig monument holes, pound in stakes and rebar monuments.
• Carry and use brush cutting equipment
• May drive survey vehicle
