Job Details
The Land Survey Crew Chief/Party Chief is responsible for translating project objectives between the office and the field and directing all duties of field survey members assigned to them while performing calculations and appropriate field activities such as construction staking, boundary, ALTA, Right of Way mapping, Aerial and/or topographic surveys and any duties asked of them.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operate and maintain care of all surveying and data collection instruments.
Record the results of surveying and verify the accuracy of data with proper field checks recorded.
Transmit survey data to the proper files in the computer network, which includes sending data to the office from remote locations on a daily basis and be able to acquire the data for field use when necessary.
Prepare legible written field notes and daily records and maintain cut sheets for staking projects.
Assist in training of staff on field methods and instrument use and care.
Research previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
Lead survey crew by providing direction and leadership by demonstrating an attitude for safety, cost control, efficiency, and professionalism.
Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations.
Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics (see Key Performance Indicator document).
