JOB DESCRIPTION: Surgical Technologist
Hours:
· Full-time- Days
Job Summary: The Surgical Technologist is an integral part of the operating room team that provides quality surgical care to patients. The Surgical Technologist is an expert in sterile technique, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
Essential Accountabilities:
· Assist in maintaining correct environment within the surgical suites and the surgical department.
· Maintains all credentialing satisfactorily.
· Exhibits professionalism always.
· Maintains confidentiality as required by HIPAA regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Anticipates, prepares, and maintains the sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the surgical procedure.
· Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique.
· Anticipates the needs of the surgeon during the surgical procedure.
· Clean, prepare, document, and terminally sterilize instruments.
· Takes call on rotation with other staff during OR non-scheduled hours as appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Formal surgical training program required, graduated from accredited Surgical Technologist program preferred.
- Currently enrolled in or completed formal Surgical Technologist Program
- 1-2 years OR experience preferred.
- BLS within 6 months of hiring
