Job Description Summary:
OhioHealth currently has a variety of locations for our Surgical Technologist fellowship program. Candidates can apply if completed 3 semesters of ST school and 2 clinical rotations. Candidates will participate in the fellowship until completion of their coursework and passing their certification exam. Once the candidate has passed their certification exam, they will transition into a full-time surgical technologist position at their hired care site. During the fellowship position the candidate will work part time based upon their clinicals at their designated school.
Under direct preceptor supervision, the Surgical Tech Fellow prepares the room and gathers supplies needed for surgical procedures; delivers instruments to the surgeon and other members of the surgical team intra operatively; may function as second assistant to the surgeon; assists in the proper decontamination of the room, supplies and instruments post operatively. All fellowship activities will be educational in nature and will not be substituted for staff personnel within the clinical institution.

Attending an accredited surgical technologist school with three semesters of completed work with 2 semester being clinical BLS - Basic Life Support
