Program Overview
Are you looking for an exciting, growing career with great responsibility that requires safely working in a fast paced, high-pressure, task-oriented and highly efficient Operating Room? Being a Surgical Technologist (ST) is a physically demanding, mentally challenging, and incredibly rewarding professional role. It requires the ability to focus, problem solve, pay close attention to detail, have excellent listening and communication skills, and an underlying commitment to doing what is right for patient safety and well-being.
This 11-month training program is designed to prepare you for career opportunities in the surgical field and includes a general education component, which complements the comprehensive skills-based specialty training. Classroom theory and laboratory hands-on training is supplemented with clinical experiences to make up the curriculum of study.
Sponsored individuals who successfully complete the training program will become Certified Surgical Technologists (CST) and promoted into CST positions in the D-H Main Operating Rooms and Outpatient Surgery Center.

· Flexibility and adaptability in the ever-changing environment of the OR

Educational Background:
- Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Alternatively, successful completion of the first year of coursework towards an Associate’s Degree as part of the DH WRI ST Year One Pathway.
- Participation in the program application and selection process.
