Surgical Technician
Primary Responsibilities
- Required to travel to our clinics located in Northern California
- Secure and prepare all supplies required for surgical intervention
- Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field in OR
- Perform surgical counts according to center policies and procedures
- Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment
- Help monitor patients during surgery
- Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase
- Perform surgical functions to assist surgeon during surgical procedure
- Collect and label specimens taken during surgical procedure
- Follow all federal, state and departmental safety procedures
- Maintain a proper sterile field during surgical procedures
- Provide technical assistance to surgeons, surgical nurses, or anesthesiologists
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure
- Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors and cut sutures, and perform other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation
- Prepare, care for, and dispose of tissue specimens
- Wash and sterilize equipment, using proper products and sterilizing techniques per manufacturers guidelines
- Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs
- Operate, assemble, adjust, or monitor sterilizers, lights, suction machines, or diagnostic equipment to ensure proper operation
- Disinfect all the equipment and tools used after the surgery
- Assist with Cleaning and turnover of the operating room after the procedure

Qualifications
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- 2+ years’ experience preferred
- BLS certification
- Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Working knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques
