About the Job
As a part of the Mohs Specialty Team, the triage specialist is responsible for scheduling appointments, addressing phone notes and patient inquiries, and providing pre- and post-operative education to patients pertaining to the Mohs surgical procedures performed in the clinic while promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.
Previous dermatology experience is preferred, but not required to be successful in this role. Previous call center and/or triage experience is preferred.
Full Time: 40 hour a week
Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary person responsible to receive triage calls from surgical patients; under the supervision of the physician, assesses patient's need for advice or care and acts to meet that need.
Under the supervision of physicians, communicates with patients in a thorough, professional and compassionate manner to educate patients on topics related to their dermatological condition.
Schedules patient appointments following standard procedure and appointment templates.
Document patient's medical record, including medications and allergies, ensuring the medical records is complete and accurate.
Completes surgical consent, lab orders, and patient forms promptly.
Performs recording / maintaining patient logs such as biopsy log and laboratory test log.
Assists patients with EHR patient portal registration.
Continually learn and be able to explain new and existing dermatological conditions.
Perform all other job related duties as assigned.
Education
Minimum Post High School education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse or scheduling experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.
Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment.
Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work independently, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to work as a member of a team. The individual must conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times, and maintain confidentiality in all matters.
Physical Demands
Ability to communicate in an active multi-office environment.
Ability to efficiently operate all job related office equipment (telephone, computer, calculator, fax, and copier).
