We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full time SURGICAL Physician Assistant with a specialization in Neurosurgery to join our dynamic medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a challenging and fast-paced environment, working closely with neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals. This role involves working with patients who have neurological disorders and diseases, including brain and spinal cord injuries, strokes, and more. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in patient management, from initial consultation to post-operative care. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a commitment to excellence, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
1. First assist in surgical cases, including spine and cranial cases
2. Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations.
3. Strong understanding of post operative pain management.
4. Collaborate with the attending physician and PA team to develop and implement patient management plans.
5. Prescribe medications, including controlled substances with DEA authorization
6. Provide patient education and counseling, promoting wellness and health maintenance.
7. Ensure all healthcare regulations and safety standards are met.
8. Participate in continuous education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. Master's of Science in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution.
2. Current New Jersey PA license.
3. Current New Jersey DEA license.
4. Current New Jersey CDS license.
5. Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
6. Board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
7. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant in an OR based surgical subspecialty
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make decisions quickly in high-stress situations.
10. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
11. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
12. Proficient in electronic medical records and medical software systems.
