SURFMEPP BAWP Planner - Noblis

Responsibilities

Surface Maintenance and Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) provides centralized surface ship life cycle maintenance engineering, and class maintenance planning and management.  SURFMEPP’s primary mission is to maintain and modernize in-service ships throughout the ship’s expected service life focusing on a complete, well-engineered, and continuously improving Class Maintenance Plan (CMP). 

SURFMEPP’s BAWP Planners utilize Navy maintenance databases, local procedures  and the Class Maintenance Plan to build and manage baseline maintenance packages in support of Surface Navy maintenance availabilities.  This work includes multiple secondary functions such as (but not limited to): Preparing and presenting informational briefs, performing quality assurance checks on multiple SURFMEPP products, updating databases and providing inputs for status reports. Additionally, BAWP Planners will:

•   Lead various working groups as assigned.
•   Support the development of metrics for SURFMEPP processes and products
•   Ensure product and process alignment with higher-level guidance
•   Provide analysis and recommendations for CMP and other SURFMEPP product improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

 •   Bachelors degree in a related filed. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors.

 •  10 – 15 years of relevant professional experience •  DOD SECRET Security Clearance •  Experience with Ship or Industrial Repair Maintenance •  U.S. Navy ship depot level maintenance planning process, either from a shipboard requirement or a Class Maintenance Plan perspective.

Desired Qualifications

 •  Use of MS Office Suite tools with particular focus on intermediate MS Excel skills •  Drafting and delivering technical presentations •  Appropriate written and verbal communication skills to interact with U.S. Navy personnel •  Proficiency in Navy automated information systems used in surface ship maintenance scheduling, such as: M&SWP, VSB, NMD, NDE and other maintenance databases.

Salary at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, and clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is provided within the posting and are based on full time status. Part time staff receive a prorated salary based on regularly scheduled hours. The estimated minimum and maximum displayed represents the broadest range for this position (inclusive of high geographic and high clearance requirements), and is just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package for employees.
