What You'll Do:
- Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values

- Responsible for the day-to-day servicing of contract surety accounts, including but not limited to
- Reviewing and approving all new and renewal bond requests, consents, riders, etc.
- Perform accurate and consistent contract and job specification review
- Review and check bonds prepared by Surety Account Representative
- Back up Surety Account Representative when additional support and document preparation is needed
- Prepare surety indemnity agreements and applications
- Prepare surety reference letters for clients
- Set up and maintain financial underwriting files with moderate guidance from an Account Executive
- Consistently communicate with Account Executive and Producer regarding any significant projects, financial issues, etc.
- Analyze underwriting files, utilize department standards to facilitate underwriting, report information to the surety(ies) with moderate guidance from an Account Executive
- Works with Account Executive in developing and submitting surety submissions to the marketplace
- Responsible for aged accounts receivable follow up with minimal guidance from Account Executive or Department Manager on a monthly basis
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new Surety Account Representative and Surety Account Manager positions in accordance with IMA standards and procedures
- Actively support the team by participating in the completion of all duties required to service an account
- Performs functions of the role within an IMA office 60% of the time
You Should Have:
- 3-5 years of similar or related surety experience
- A two-year college or bachelor's degree preferred
- Current Resident State (and possibly non-resident) Property and Casualty Insurance license required, as well as completion of all mandatory CE requirements
- Be detail oriented with strong priority management skills
- Possess strong communication skills (including courtesy, tact and diplomacy) with external and internal clients, surety companies, and the team
- Possess strong problem-solving acumen and the ability to perform intermediate level mathematics
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel), as well as Tinubu (SurePath), EPIC and FoxIt
- Participation in surety-related association activities and educational opportunities preferred
- Attain and maintain professional designation – AFSB preferred
- Limited travel required (less than 25%)
