Job Summary:
As a Support Operator, you will support the team by learning and working in every area of our Production Department including forklifts to provide coverage in all areas as needed and maintain equipment safely. Our Support Operators work with the Production Lead to cross train and learn integral functions that aid in every process of production. This role is essential to the production process as you will be proficient in every position in addition to knowing certain maintenance procedures. This individual will learn the operations and housekeeping requirements expected of each station. Attention to detail is imperative in this role to ensure all products are made conforming to the quality standards set in place. Teamwork and versatility are crucial for success in this role. You will be interacting with and performing frequent machine adjustments and minor maintenance tasks during your shift. As a Support Operator, you will be monitored by the Production Lead and Production Supervisor to ensure Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety and Housekeeping requirements are met daily.
Required Experience and Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Read and write in English
- Good math, language and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
- Follow instructions for operating equipment and records keeping
- Execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner
- Maintain a clean & safe environment
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting, up to 60 pounds
- Adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn pivot
- Stand for long periods of time
- Good sense of balance
- Good eye-hand-foot coordination
- Daily housekeeping, equipment sanitation and confined space cleaning inside equipment are a requirement of this position.
- Ability to learn all operating equipment and duties
- Perform daily stretching exercises
- Ability to work in a dusty environment
- Ability to work in heights
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending on season 32-110 degrees
- Standing: Entire shift
- Pushing/Pulling: Frequently
- Noise typical of a production environment: Entire shift/Hearing Protection Required
Time Demands:
- On occasion, business demands may require some employees to work overtime.
- When overtime is required, employees are expected to work extra hours as required to meet business needs - this is a requirement of this position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Age: 18 years or older
- Comprehension: Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions.
- Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Safety: Ensuring the complete physical safety of oneself and one's co-workers at all times without exception
