The Supply Planner is pivotal in strategizing and securing the materials needed for our product lines. This involves participating in defining the supply chain direction, planning, and executing the movement of goods (both production materials and inbound goods), and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our product data in SAP.
This role will participate in the review and confirmation of the demand forecast; assess supply status of goods and capacity utilization based on the demand forecast; oversee and/or validate inventory planning and target setting at the manufacturing sites and monitor or execute as necessary the ordering or production of materials to satisfy demand requirements.
As a Supply Planner, you will be a champion for building a best-in-class, resilient supply chain. You'll leverage SAP and other tools to create a transparent, adaptable, and interconnected network. Your focus on data accuracy, inventory targets, and optimizing sourcing and distribution models will ensure we have the right stock in the right place to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist in training and directing Site MRP Controllers as necessary to ensure proper execution of supply chain planning strategy. Act as MRP Controller as assigned – primarily external warehouse management or site backup activities.
- Monitor inventory levels for assigned product lines and engage MRP controllers to address deviations from targets.
- Develop/Validate service model by customer/material to support the generation of customer SLA’s. Coordinate with Customer Service to ensure CMIR reflects agreed sourcing plans.
- Interact with Sales/Product Management, Demand Planner(s), and Sites to address CID submissions or other demand changes. Coordinate/Execute master data changes to ensure alignment with future volumes.
- Utilizing the demand forecast, work with the Plant Schedulers, Plant Managers, and regional supply teams to maintain accurate production focused forecasts and/or RCCP for appropriate production resources.
- Resolve issues such as capacity constraints and material shortfalls. Coordinate reallocation/resupply of materials in a manner that best supports customer demand and minimizes costs.
- Engage with product management, technical, commercial, and manufacturing resources to ensure smooth launch and/or discontinuation activities for assigned products. Proper planning of ramp-up and ramp-down is critical to customer service as well as preventing product dormancy.
- Investigate and resolve supply chain related complaints raised through EtQ as assigned.
- Engage with Sun Chemical in-plant locations to coordinate the most economical supply plans from key source locations – supporting inventory planning at both supply plant and in-plant as well as optimization of logistics.
- Conduct/Support targeted customer account interactions, typically focused on long-lead time or complex supply chains. Customer engagement ensures adequate stock coverage and clarifies expectations of service.
- Take the lead on import strategies and overseas orders to reduce stockouts without excessive inventory levels.
