Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for Managing, developing, and improving material planning, purchasing/supply chain operations, production/repair scheduling, and warehouse/logistic operations to ensure an on-time, quality flow of material for an uninterrupted production flow while minimizing inventory costs. As the leader/manager/facilitator, focus will be the functional BU Team participants (buyers and planners) to identify problems, use data to understand problems, determine true root cause, and develop effective corrective actions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develops, implements, and manages cross-functional, fully integrated planning processes that incorporate make vs buy, capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, material, and associated cost elements.
- Performs analysis of customer demand, sales forecasts, and historical material usage to develop and execute build to order and build to forecast plans.
- Prepares customer delivery reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and uses information to proactively communicate potential late deliveries.
- Establishes and supervises production scheduling activities by monitoring material inventories, tracking progress of production and reviewing factors that affect schedules.
- Develops and executes a sourcing strategy to meet the company’s business growth and sourcing requirements.
- Identifies, develops, and manages effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality, and delivery targets. Implements and manages systems to evaluate, monitor and report supplier scorecard performance.
- Coordinates and works with quality, design and manufacturing engineering, machining, and assembly operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues.
- Participates as a leading manager of the Operations team in making cross-functional operational decisions and coordinating very closely with the Business Unit Managers.
- Management to develop long-term goals and objectives for purchasing & planning and tracks performance using selected KPI’s.
- Works closely with the Business Units and Engineering, as well as the BU Managers during new product development/redesign phase to ensure purchased product costs, quality standards and product availability fall within the established criteria of the Company/Project.
Education/Previous Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or other related discipline. Masters in related field a plus
- Experience in management of materials and sourcing within a design and manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge and understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their use in a manufacturing environment. Experience with EXACT MAX a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Decisive leadership skills & problem-solving under pressure. Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
