About the Job
A member of the Quality Leadership team this position is responsible to ensure a safe, quality and regulatory compliant raw and packaging materials across all business units and merchandising. External liaison with peer companies, regulators, trade associations, suppliers and customers.
RISK ASSESSMENT, APPROVAL AND MAINTENANCE OF INGREDIENT SUPPLIER LOCATIONS AND INGREDIENTS:
Leads and manages the Food Safety & Regulatory risk of Ingredient suppliers across the business
Designs, implements and delivers a risk-based approach to managing supplier producing locations
Leads ingredient hazard analysis, as needed
Develops & Executes a Desk Review/On-site Audit Plan to ensure suppliers are meeting our requirements
Manages review of information provided by supplier producing locations for adequacy, as needed
Proactively manages significant and emerging Food Safety & Regulatory issues, elevating up the organization as appropriate.
Assists company owned plants and sourcing/purchasing in resolving issues
Leads and Implements Land O’Lakes Quality Requirements at Food and Feed Ingredient supplier locations
Partners with Sourcing to keep the approved vendor lists current
Reviews and provides input to Ingredient specifications
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & MAINTENANCE:
Leads all aspects of the ingredient quality program
Designs, Implements and Delivers food and feed ingredient programs that comply to the QMS External Business Partner requirement and programs.
Leads and ensures compliance to regulatory requirements for supplier verification programs (e.g. FSVP, Supply chain preventive controls)
Provides Innovative Quality Management Systems
Identifies and implement food safety and quality best practices
Drives innovative solutions to business challenges and opportunities
OTHER:
Provides administrative and managerial responsibilities related to direct reports
Provides career development counsel to direct reports
Coaches and mentors talent within the organization
As a member of the LOL Quality Leadership Team, participates in the development and implementation of ongoing strategies, objectives and action plans for Land O'Lakes, Inc. Quality, Product Integrity, Product Safety and Regulatory Assurance
Create appropriate metrics that serve to support and measure the success of the Internal and External Supply Chain Quality to drive continuous improvement
Facilitate the engagement, communication, and consistent application of metrics and goals. Collaborate cross-functionally to build relationships with internal and external business partners
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ability to travel approximately 25%
Walk through manufacturing facilities to perform audits
Bachelors Degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field required with 8+ years of related job experience
Salary Range: $120,880 - $181,320
