About the Job
The Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for the effective implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) for the organization. The Quality Assurance Engineer reports to the President of the organization.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Ensuring the processes needed for the QMS are established, implemented and maintained
Reporting to top management on the performance of the QMS, and any needs for improvement
Ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization. Maintains satisfaction as to quality through internal and external inspection relative to raw materials, finished items, purchased, production operations and processes
Has responsibility to create, review, approve and remove all quality system related documents such as procedures, work instructions and forms
Has the authority to qualify and disqualify suppliers, based on the latter's quality performance. Responsible for proper implementation of policy with regards to control and monitoring of measuring devices; maintenance and control of calibration records, and scheduling of calibration to be performed
Responsible for performing First Part/Article Inspection and approving or rejecting tooling
Responsible for implementation and organization of all internal audits as per procedure. Has the assigned responsibility and authority to implement and maintain documented procedures for inspection and testing activities in order to verify that specified requirements are met
Responsible for processing material returns (supplier and customer) for nonconformities, initiate corrective and preventive action, implement these actions, and verify their effectiveness. Address customer complaints, and resolve problems
Verifies and/or prepares Certificate of Conformance and Certificate of Analysis for customers. Responsible for implementation and organization of the Annual Management Review Meetings as per procedure
Assist our R+D department with testing of supplier materials
Indirectly supervises employees, and trains them in the interpretation of Quality Management System of the organization
Education and Experience:
Four year college or technical school
Or two to three years of experience and/or training specializing in quality control and manufacturing operations
Nine to 12 months experience to attain quality and quantity performance standard
