Our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in the Aerospace industry!
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing vendors and processors while working close with Supply Chain Management to assess the quality to ensure products are in accordance with the engineering drawing, procurement specification acceptance criteria and purchase order requirements. The SQE is responsible for the maintenance of the aerospace standard quality requirements to meet the latest revision of the AS9100 and the international standard ISO9001. THE SQE must also have knowledge of the aerospace material and process specification requirements used in the industry, familiar with Measuring and Testing equipment (M&TE) utilized for quality control inspection and utilize aerospace recommended practice ARP9136 to perform root cause analysis and problem solving. The SQE must have effective communication, technical writing and investigate problems systematically. The SQE will be required to plan and present to management articles such as procedures, methods, tools etc. that will enhance the quality of the product being delivered to the facility.
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:
- Maintain compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems requirements and standards.
- Review customer flow-down quality requirements to determine applicability to suppliers and processors.
- Oversee surveillance activities and onsite supplier audits (as applicable to 3rd Party accreditation, customer, and government requirements).
- Develop, update, and implement compliant quality procedures.
- Maintain supplier quality records.
- Communicate with Contracts, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, etc. to resolve issues.
- Interface with suppliers and processors, build and maintain a positive and stable working relationship, and manage supplier related MRB activities.
- Monitor Supplier Scorecards and continually improve the Quality & On-Time Delivery metrices.
- Manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL) database.
- Review and approve internal and external First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) iaw AS9102.
- Follow all Senior (SSP and Corporate level) policies and procedures.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree required with a strong preference for a degree in an engineering discipline or other technical field.
- Experience in Quality Systems Administration; experienced in Quality system auditing and customer audits.
- Thorough knowledge of quality procedures.
- Prior experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
Required Skills:
- Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. The SQE must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customer, and vendors.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Other Abilities: It is preferred that the SQE has some level of prior experience in quality systems administration; quality system auditing and customer audits; and knowledge of aerospace quality procedures. The SQE will be expected to possess knowledge of up-to-date inspection and control methods in the aerospace metal industry and the ability to understand, modify and interpret complex technical information to draw valid conclusions, using detailed analysis and extreme conscientiousness.
