Duties
For the Supervisory Physician, GS-0602-15 you will:
Oversee the planning and organization of medical and pharmaceutical operations and ensures implemented processes and procedures are in compliance with laws, regulations, mandates, statutes.Serve as the OWCP authority for the Agency's medical and pharmacy bill processing/provider network and PBM operations with overall responsibility for directing highly complex projects and employs strategic planning methods and technical advisory services through discussion of overall and specific problems, which may be precedent setting, extremely involved, or very unusual, with senior executives and Program managers.Anticipate problems or obstacles that could affect the medical and pharmacy bill processing/provider network operations and proactively takes necessary steps to resolve them to mitigate risk.Oversee the formulation, development and implementation of appropriate policies and procedures for the OWCP medical bill and pharmacy processing operations as well as addresses special procedural and policy needs of individual programs.

This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association(external link); Association of American Medical Colleges(external link); Liaison Committee on Medical Education(external link); Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.Degree from Foreign Medical School: A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must provide education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates(external link), a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Licensure:
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Additional Qualifications Requirements for Supervisory Physician, GS-602-15.For GS-15 -- 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
For the GS-15, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-14 in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-14).
Specialized experience includes all of the following:
-Experience developing medical and/or pharmaceutical policy.
-Experience developing clear, concise written medical opinions for non-medical leaders after reviewing complex medical records.
