About the Job
DutiesServes as the data administrator for the Bureau of Prisons (BOP). Establishes policies and procedures and the overall administration of the Mainframe System Support Section (database, data dictionary, and data communications), as well as the SENTRY systems development section for the applications programming. Plans and serves on committees to assist in planning and advises executive management on the future directions the BOP should take in major software acquisition and development. Responsible for the integrity of the database, installation of new releases of Integrated Data Management System (IDMS), migration of new modules to the database, and reviewing the test results of new applications programs to assure successful implementation. Implements and maintains security access procedures.
