Summary of Position:
Directs Plant Shift Maintenance/Machine Chiefs and Operators for maximum productivity. Ensures that the Plant process operates within the parameters established by the Manager, Engineer and is optimized for best quality products and production efficiencies. Troubleshoots plant-wide electrical/programming and mechanical problems.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor work habits of the Maintenance Department to ensure performance in a safe manner. Communicate safe work habits to everyone in the plant
· Determine if machines need to be taken out of production for repairs or service
· Allocate maintenance resources on shift. Determine proper priorities of work when more than one issue needs addressed at a time
· Troubleshoot maintenance problems with machinery when it is beyond typical troubleshooting performed by Mechanics and Electricians
· Requisition parts and materials necessary for the continued operation of the plant
· Contact contractors for repair assistance as needed
· Communicate maintenance issues with the off-going and oncoming shifts to ensure continuity of operation. Read and record comments in logbooks, both maintenance and production
· Follow up on preventative maintenance routines assigned to Mechanics and Electricians
· Complete special projects assigned by Manager
· Monitor quality of incoming raw materials, including uncured glass. Communicate glass quality issues with supervisor
· Monitor quality checks performed by Machine Chiefs for conformance to product quality standards, trends, etc.
· Monitor finished scrap for excess waste and process issues
· Assist department in correcting process problems or optimizing process efficiency
· Complete Root Cause Analysis on process, quality, maintenance, and recurring issues.
Qualifications:Education/Experience:
· Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Electronics Technology; and
· Five (5) years of hands-on experience in and industrial manufacturing environment, troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems

· Ten (10) years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems
· Process improvement experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of machinery and its design/use
· Working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems
· Knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards
· Knowledge of standard maintenance processes/procedures in a similar environment
· Knowledge of process improvement methodologies/practices
· Ability to direct maintenance-needed repairs

· Ability to make quick, thorough decisions that positively impact the department
· Ability to work in a safety-conscious manner
