Position Start Date As soon as possible Salary/Wage Salary to Commensurate with Experience Terms/Schedule 1.0 FTE; Full-time; Regular Contract; 260 day calendar (year-round) Appointment Type Full TimeDescription Position Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of summer school planning and implementation, as well as the development and implementation of a community education program. Job Summary: As a coordinator who is responsible for the implementation of our summer school program, you will work closely with the summer school principals (1-8 and 9-12), Director of Athletics, and Teaching and Learning directors to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the summer school curriculum and operations.As a coordinator who supports the development and implementation of a community education program, you will work closely with district-level directors, community partners, and the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning to create, implement, and evaluate a community education program. Key Responsibilities: Summer School Coordination and Support: 1. Provides administrative support to the summer school principals.2. Organization of all activities related to summer school and community outreach including (but not limited to) summer school course catalog and website information.3. Coordinate course offerings and curriculum with Teaching and Learning directors, and summer school principals. 4. Set up the enrollment portal and provide support to families during the registration window. 5. Review and edit all registrations to ensure all schedules are accurate and grade-specific. 6. Coordinate materials and activities for summer school staff and locations. 7. Coordinate monthly meetings with the summer school team during the planning. 8. Recruitment, interviewing, reference check, and hiring of all summer school staff. 9. Verify licensure and certification for each certified employee. 10. Collaborates with employee services on summer school staff recruiting and hiring. 11. Organizes staff orientation for summer school. 12. Preparation of summer school reports. 13. Assist the transportation department in planning routes, times, site locations, and student rosters. 14. Develop and monitor the annual budget for summer school. 15. Prepare all documents and budget for presentation to the T&L Committee and The Board. 16. Responsible for collaborating with the Finance department on summer school financial reporting to the Department of Public Instruction. 17. Volunteer coordination and community outreach networking. Community Outreach: 1. Establish an alumni database to use for district communications, fundraising, etc.2. Research best practices in the provision of mini-courses for the community held in district facilities. 3. Recommend a three-year implementation of a community education program. 4. Establish partnerships with area technical colleges and universities, current employees, and community organizations to support the implementation of a community education program. 5. Establish and administer the budget associated with the community education program. 6. Recruit, train, and evaluate all staff involved in the community education program. 7. Establish progress monitoring and program effectiveness metrics for the community education program. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in education or related field. Current educational DPI teaching license. Experience in education or related field strongly preferred. Proficiency and experience with technology: databases, Infinite Campus, Google Applications, financial software. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to move independently between summer school locations. Familiarity with educational technology and data analysis is preferred. Previous experience working with diverse student populations is a plus. Bilingual language skills preferred.
