Job Summary and Qualifications

*  This is a Full Time Day Shift position with rotating weekends.  Hours will vary between 6:00am - 6:00pm and will be 8-10 hour shifts * 

The Supervisor of Pharmacy Technicians will directly supervise and assist the pharmacy technicians and other support staff effectively.  IV room experience is required.

What You Will Do In This Role:

• Accountable for managing the day to day activities of the technician staff, providing staff development, and evaluating the level of technician performance 
• The technician supervisor, under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department when necessary
• All activities are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and are carried out in the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration
• Work with the manager to establish pharmacy goals and objectives and responsible for implementation and monitoring
• Act as manager in charge as assigned
• Manage technician scheduling, staffing and payroll procedures
• Maintain quality improvement
• Maintain a comprehensive training program for pharmacy technicians
• Hire, train, and provide orientation to new employees.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks
• Leads and directs the work of others
• A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
• Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function
• Perform other duties as assigned

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma or GED required
• TX Pharmacy Technician Registrations
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required
• Minimum of 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience
• IV Room experience required
