The Supervisor of Pay Management will oversee the day-to-day operations of the department to ensure that employees and vendors receive accurate compensation for services and goods received by MyMichigan Health. This position will be responsible for standardizing and documenting department procedures to facilitate consistent, compliant and efficient processing. . This individual will supervise Pay Management FTE’s and will assist with the major initiatives of the department: the continued enhancement of all cash disbursement processes, the standardization of pay practices across MyMichigan Health, the optimization of Kronos and Lawson and the compliance initiative for tax related exposures.
Responsibilities:- (40%)* Supervise and assist with the preparation, documentation, distribution, and reconciliation of payroll for the health system. Manage electronic time keeping system. Review the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. Maintain understanding of human resource labor and pay rules and regulations. Balance and reconcile net pay, taxes, taxable wages, and related tax deductions. Oversee the processing of payroll records and related regulatory reporting on a bi-weekly basis.
- (20%)* Supervise and assist with the vendor payment process for the health system. Oversee the processing of approximately 500 payments weekly and confirm timely regulatory reporting.
- (20%)* Provide day to day supervision over the Pay Management Administrators, including mentoring and coaching, performance management and development, and assignment of projects/tasks. Responsible for the review and timely/accurately filing of regulatory reporting including IRS Form 941 and State of Michigan reporting.
- (10%)* Collaborate extensively with Human Resources, Finance, and Purchasing as a subject matter expert for Pay Management related issues relating to pay practices, vendor payments, regulatory matters, and system administration. Provide hands on support and guidance with regard to testing, training and implementation of payroll tax updates, system upgrades, and process improvement impacting Pay Management software applications and processes.
- (10%)* Participate on special projects for both Payroll and Accounts Payable as well as other health system initiatives. Ad-hoc reporting as requested by health system leaders.

Certifications and Licensures:No certification or licensure required at this time
Required Education:Bachelor degree is required
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field required. Five (5) years of accounts payable, payroll, or finance experience required.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Optimum research and problem solving expertise required.
Lawson and Kronos experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.

Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level: Sedentary. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 0-10 lbs.
