We are seeking a Node Construction Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day activities of an assigned team of Small Cell Node Construction Managers. This role is focused on vendor management, work order execution, construction, and restoration of small cell networks, ensuring consistency with defined standard operating processes and procedures. You will support the Manager of Node Construction and work across various node/fiber construction teams while improving processes, deliverables, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of Node Construction Managers for construction demands, CapEx and OpEx management, and KPIs.
- Support communication between the Manager of Node Construction and teams such as NOC, Engineering, Field Operations, and Change Management.
- Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology in use and its potential impact on operations.
- Oversee CAPEX and OPEX spend and budgets for assigned areas.
- Develop, coach, and identify training opportunities for team members, creating career paths.
- Schedule and prioritize workloads for both internal teams and external vendors.
- Work with utility and municipal providers to streamline permits and apply programs like the FCC’s One Touch Make-Ready initiative.
- Manage vendor resources for construction completion, including initial construction reviews, site management, schedule tracking, and permitting activities.
- Participate in vendor evaluation and selection processes.
- Ensure compliance with Crown Castle’s construction standards, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; B.S. in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction-related field preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 2+ years of experience in:
- Direct supervision/management of construction managers.
- Node engineering design, splicing, and/or construction implementation.
- Familiarity with node construction standards (aerial and underground), and experience with optical test equipment (OTDR, PMD, Optical Spectrum Analyzer).
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong project management and people management abilities.
- Deep knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure engineering, construction, and restoration.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint), with experience in Power BI being a plus.
- A positive attitude, customer-focused mindset, and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
Working Conditions
- Travel to project sites up to 10% of the time, with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions.
- Work is primarily conducted in an office setting (90%).
Additional Details
The base range for this contract position is $40 - $50/per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
