Scope of the Position
The Materials Supervisor - Inventory -Service Parts -Cycle Counter is responsible planning, coordinating, and analyzes cycle counts of raw material, purchased components, details, subassemblies, and finished goods.
Directly or through manager, ensures achievement of company goals and objectives. This position participates fully in department initiatives. This position will work closely with the Production Scheduler and MPL Manager
Responsibilities
- Inventory expert, working with ERP systems to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies and monitor inventory accuracy
- Establishes a schedule for cycle counting all products within our building, adjust the schedule if other reports show it is required. Negative Inventory Report
- Verify receipt data entry from Receivers and monitor FIFO of raw materials throughout the plant
- Maintain minimum inventory levels and monitor for accuracy regularly with cycle counts
- Evaluate current cycle counting forms for effectiveness and adjust as needed.
- Supervise, Lead, and Coach Cycle Counters and Inventory Control Analyst, towards achieving department goals and key performance indicators.
- Train Cycle Counters to effectively count to the established schedule.
- Coordinate cycle counters with production and/or shipping material handlers to complete counts.
- Analyze counts with expected inventory and request recounts if necessary.
- CMS database- Troubleshooting physical and system inventory discrepancies, understanding transactions in the inventory database, and root cause analysis
- Fill out and submit inventory adjustment forms once counts and investigations are complete.
- Review service order produced by Service Coordinator, request production to produce any without inventory on hand.
- Reference quality alert and engineering change logs for any possible issues with required service parts.
- Provide Service Coordinator any information required to produce labels for service order.
- Work with material handler to pull service parts to designated area.
- Review each part to ensure all branding and parts numbers are correct.
- Review packaging with Service Coordinator and provide instructions to material handler to get packaged parts to be ready to ship.
- Notify quality department when order is pulled and ready for review.
- Once review is complete, notify shipping department that order is ready for shipment.
- Review BOL to ensure accuracy to order requested.
Qualifications
- 2 year degree or equivalent y (highly desired, but not required)
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 to 4 years in the automotive industry
- 2 years Inventory control experience
- Excellent organizational and time management
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
- Strong analytical ability
- Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required
- Troubleshooting ability is required
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated good internal customer service skills
- Detail oriented
- Good computer skills
