Litehouse is seeking a passionate and strategic Supervisor, Inventory Control to join our team in Danville, VA!
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for planning and leadership of the Inventory Control Department activities to ensure a high level of inventory integrity. This position works cross-functionally to effectively ensure inventory accuracy by analyzing data, defining problems, drawing valid conclusions and driving and executing changes for improvement.
What you will do
- Supervise and lead inventory control team. Ensure team performs functions to deliver a high level of inventory accuracy.
- Ownership over the collection and evaluation of cycle counting data, including reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Identify shrinkage as well as opportunities for improvement related to inventory or processes within the facility. Partner with the appropriate departments to resolve any inventory issues in a timely manner.
- Audit job close and other systems to ensure procedures are being followed. Implement processes to resolve discrepancies.
- Provide monthly or weekly KPI reports to operations/accounting and perform root cause analysis and determine appropriate corrective actions to inventory variances.
- Manage discontinued, expired and food bank items according to processes. Work with appropriate food bank/resellers to mitigate losses or disposals.
- Prepare inventory for audits. Coordinate with accounting and any offsite warehouses for year-end audits.
- Adjust cycle count frequency program by SKU as business conditions change
- Regular monitoring of material issues and job closings.
- Responsible for scheduling, supervising and the development of the inventory control and cycle count team
- Responsibility to adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to their supervisor.
- Other activities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3+ years related experience and/or training in inventory field
- Previous supervisor experience preferred
- Must be proficient in Smart Client and IAF Mobile Client
- Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD)-APICS Upon Hire
- Forklift/Scissor lift Upon Hire
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong understanding of inventory transactions related to inventory management.
- Compute basic mathematical calculations, rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Capable of presenting information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees in the organization.
- Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas professionally, effectively and efficiently in the common language.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task, working in fast-paced environment
