Virtus Healthcare Staffing is actively seeking a skilled and experienced Laboratory Supervisor II - Hematology for our client, a leading healthcare provider, at their facility in Deland, FL. Position Overview:

The Laboratory Supervisor II - Hematology will oversee the hematology department during the night shift (5:00 PM - 3:00 AM). This role involves supervising laboratory testing, monitoring workflow, ensuring quality control, and providing guidance to team members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hematology, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the hematology department during the night shift.
• Oversee laboratory testing, including CBCs, blood smear examinations, coagulation tests, bone marrow examinations, and flow cytometry.
• Monitor workflow from sample processing to results reporting, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to laboratory team members.
• Evaluate and monitor compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality requirements.
• Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures related to job performance, customer interactions, and information confidentiality.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• ASCP or AAB certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
• Florida Supervisor's license in Hematology is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biological sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience as a Medical Technologist/Supervisor.
• Strong knowledge of hematology principles, techniques, and instrumentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Must be willing to work the night shift (5:00 PM - 3:00 AM).
